Health care providers can help identify persons at risk by carrying out screening programs. However, when screening for suicide risk, it is important to have resources and systems in place to connect anyone identified as being at risk to appropriate follow-up care and assistance. Screening efforts should never be standalone programs. They are more effective when conducted as part of a comprehensive strategic plan that begins with an assessment of the local context and the resources available to address the suicide problem. In this webinar we will discuss the following: What is a suicide screening and when to use and how often?, What is a suicide assessment and when to use?, formulating a risk assessment, suggested screening tools and developing a policy around suicide screening. and assessment. Presented by Andrei Nemoianu, MD from Community Care Behavioral Health.
